CLASS EXPECTATIONS

Hello Students! Here you will find the 7 basic rules of the Physical Education subject. Read them carefully and keep them in mind when we are in class. Following these rules will help create a good, safe environment for enjoying and learning together in this beautiful subject.

1. PUNCTUALITY: Your time is as valuable as mine or anybody else's. It's a lack of respect to the teacher, the subject and your partners to come to class late, so every tardy (retraso injustificado) will lower your attitude mark.

2. ATTENDANCE: Try not to miss class. It's very important to participate actively in all the classes because this subject is mostly practical, so if you don't come to class, it's impossible to learn the content and pass.

3. EQUIPMENT: Bring sports clothes and sports shoes, and also don't wear long earrings, necklaces, wrist bands, rings, etc. Anything that can get caught and cause an injury should not be worn. It's about safety. Even if you are comfortable and happy wearing your long earrings or your jeans, it's not right, it's not safe, and it gives a very bad impression, apart from not being the right clothes for sports. Last but not least, bring a clean T-Shirt to change into after the class.

4. SECURITY: We will practice many different activities using different materials, so be careful to control the intensity of your movements and listen to the teacher's instructions. There's people around you that can get hurt from your actions. Make sure you use the material properly and remember to always play fair and safely.

5. ATTITUDE: A big part of your mark will come from your attitude in class. Listen to the teacher during the explanations, ask permission to get into the material room or to go to the bathroom, try your best in all the activities, no matter your level. Be a good example for your classmates by helping them to do the task correctly, or by stopping them from doing something wrong or unsafe. Showing an active, respectful and responsible attitude is the key to get a perfect score (10) in PE.

6. ABSENCES: If you can't come to class because you have a doctor appointment or any other reason, justify your absence bringing a doctor's or parent's note. If you don't justify your absence, it will affect your mark, because you will be missing class content for no reason. Also, if you come to class but you can't participate because of an injury or because you're sick, then bring pen and paper to write down the lesson and a reflection on ideas to improve it. You will have to give me that paper at the end of the class.

7. GROUP MARK: Your class is a team, and you will have a group mark as a team. I will be more or less flexible with the group depending on how the team works. If you waste time while I try to explain or organize the activity, your group mark will go down, and we won't be able to do many fun things like field trips or other exciting activities. On the other hand, if the group listens and works well during the classes, your group mark will go up and then you will be the first group to benefit from field trips, fun extra activities, rewards, etc.

How can you improve your group mark?

- Listen during the explanations, don't interrupt.
- Come quickly around me when called with the whistle.
- Treat each other well (no insults, be nice to each other, help each other)
- Show effort and honesty during the activities (no cheating, no complaining, try your best)
